Becca's Story
Rebecca has worked for Holistic Pet Care Center and Best Friends Animal Clinic for over ten years. Rebecca previously worked at a humane society in Colorado and ran an animal rescue for over 15 years. In 2002, she took her first Animal Care assistant course through Penn Foster College. In 2005, she attended Tidewater Community College enrolling in their Veterinary Technician program. In 2013, she ran a disaster relief program with the rescue she ran.
She came to Oklahoma after the May 19th and 20th tornadoes to assist residents with their pets. When in Shawnee, she was asked to stay in Oklahoma to help further, as many disoriented animals were still lost in the surrounding areas. With the assistance of one other person, she rescued, housed, cleaned, and fed 73 cats and dogs. Rebecca explained, "In October of 2013, I met Dr. Roach, and after several attempts to get me to join his team, I finally agreed in December of 2013. I worked my way through the clinic learning and absorbing all I could!"

Rebecca currently has five dogs, three cats, two rabbits, and a bearded dragon. In the past, she has had and cared for horses, pigs, chickens, iguanas, salamanders, a chameleon, pigeons, and snakes.

Rebecca's dog Brigid, as seen in her picture, is a Catahoula Leopard mix. She was a "Rez Dog" from Southern New Mexico. She drove nine hours one way to rescue her. She is now around fourteen years old. Her bearded dragon Alice, aka Lizard Guts, was rescued. Alice's name was inspired by the T-Rex on Land of the Lost.
